Northwest Hospital, Seattle, 2001: Northwest spent $ 5 million to expand, renovate and add amenities to its Emergency Department, including a fresh-fruit-and-muffin station for emergency-medical technicians, advertising its new ER on billboards and buses.
Swedish Medical Center, Seattle, 2001: Updated and expanded the Emergency Department at its First Hill campus.
Swedish, Issaquah, March 2005: Swedish opened Washington state’s first free-standing ER and ambulatory-care center in Issaquah. It closed in 2011 when Swedish’s new Issaquah hospital opened.
